This page and the Stewardship Article Pages (and anything else you see that might help someone), are available for your church or associational newsletter. All I ask is that you make me aware that you are using the materials and that you send me a printed copy. You also have my permission to let your readers know that they can email me with individual questions and concerns. There is a wealth of information that can be used already but if you start to use the information, I'll email you all new columns as I meet current church and associational deadlines. (Usually the tenth of each month, the new column is emailed) These newsletter columns are called Kernels of Korn because of my last name but also because the readers are warned that I'm only planting seeds of information and it is up to them to continue to cultivate and nurture the information planted by HIS direction. This was the first column in the series and as I write each column I'll place a copy here for all those who might be interested.
NO! You're not too old or too
young! Yes, you can! Even You! I
guarantee it!
You can become a MONEY EXPERT! You can become the MAN, when it comes to your
finances! Yes,
that includes you ladies also. You can learn how to better manage and
invest your dollars if you are willing to just say "I CAN." Quit
tellin yourself you can't and I'll show you how you can, become:
Now,
before you quit readin this talk--uhh, what? Talk? Yes, that's what it is, I'm
writin my talk so that you don't get all flustered and tell yourself you can't
never learn that stuff ole Rick is writin about. You
aren't readin--you're listening. Keep tellin yourself that---repeat after
me--do it out loud, even if your
spouse is listening. They expect strange stuff from you anyway so you might as
well give them something to talk about. Plus, you might get them interested. Now,
where was I? Oh yeah, repeat after me: I'm
not readin---I'm listening---I'm not readin--I'm listening. Well,
did the spouse give you a strange look or what? I'll bet! So
now that you're listening, let me say with some honest conviction. You
can become financially knowledgeable! I guarantee it!
How?
How are you going to become a guru? An expert? An educated consumer? An
investment whiz? By plantin
seeds, that's how! Yes, I'm sure some of you remember my famous Tomato Seeds* but
let's look at some other seeds that we will be planting,
Kernels of Korn
and Biblical
Seeds of Faith.
The Kernels
will come from my experiences, education and observations, in fact, Kernels of Korn are just plain ole bits of wisdom and knowledge that
have somehow trickled down into this big old bald cob! The
Biblical Seeds
will come from those promises He has made to us in the Bible. Why do I call
them seeds? Well, I've discovered something about the promises God has made to
us in the Bible! These Biblical promises are no good if you leave them
in the Bible. You've gotta take them out and plant them in your life.
Unplanted
seeds, don't grow! Want
to say that again in plain verse? Unplanted Seeds Don't Grow! You must
make an effort to at least plant a seed if you expect a bountiful crop! Seeds
of wisdom. Seeds of promise. Seeds of knowledge, planted into your life will
start to grow wisdom, promises and knowledge! I'll
write the columns with a lot of seeds in them, it’s up to
you to take the seeds you want and plant them into your life! I
hope to write each column with some Kernels
of Korn and some Biblical Seeds.
A little of each, in each column will give your inquiring, inquisitive
"gardens" something to listen to. By listening here, I hope that
you'll become interested in doing a lot of listening and seed planting on your
own! There's a ton of material you can listen to! Cable TV programs, community
college classes, Adult Education classes, Internet sites--including my own
stewardship site, http://www.biblicalstewardship.com/,
newspaper articles and articles in tons of consumer magazines such as Reader's
Digest, AARP, Red Book, etc. Don't
holler at me that you're too old or too young! *If
you send me a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, I'll send you a package of
tomato seeds as a reminder of who the Master Gardener is and as we continue
this column these tomato seeds will be a constant reminder of His power.
Please note: Mr. Rick Kornmeier CPA CFP does not sell any financial or accounting services, books or tapes. His involvement with Consumer and Biblical Stewardship is a ministry that was started in the early 1980's strictly as a means of sharing his abilities with churches and Christians in need of his expertise.
