Calculation Worksheets

All of These Interactive Excel Worksheets
can be downloaded or Emailed.

  • Retirement Calculator An interactive worksheet that really can show you the affects of different saving amounts and how the timing of those amounts can make a huge difference in your retirement nest egg. This is the sheet that I use in all my seminars and classes. It's fun! Suggest you download this one and send it to all the young people you know and care about!!

  • 401 K Calculator A neat and complex worksheet that actually shows you some future projections based upon your inputs.

  • Retirement Budget This is a simplified worksheet for estimating your future retirement expenses and income. It's based on one simple assumption: Your expenses will be ??? % lower than your current expenses. After reviewing our discussions on inflation etc. you'll know that this is a simple worksheet,
BUT IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO START!

  • Family Budget If you use Quicken you don't need this but it is a good place to start if you've never recorded your expenses and income and/or kept a budget.  For a direct download.

  • Simple Budget. This one is really easy to fill in!

  • Checkbook Ledger If you don't have Quicken or Money use this
worksheet to record all of your expenditures. When I counsel with anyone about
their finances, one of the first things I ask them to do is to keep track of every
dollar spent for the next three months!

  • Lease vs Buy Generally, I've never really seen a good example where leasing is better than an outright purchase, but.........

  • Net Worth  Recall, before you know where you are going, YOU must know where you are at!  Do this NET WORTH statement.

  • Loan Interest Calculates your monthly payment and the total amount of payments, interest and principal, over the term of the loan.

  • Car Payments. Can you afford that new car? Try my 6 month rule. Calculate the payment you'll have and for the next 6 months go ahead and make that payment to your savings account! If your budget isn't affected too greatly, then buy the car! Use the 6 months of savings as an additional down payment.

  • Mortgage Refinance. This worksheet can help in that tough refinancing decision.

  • Mortgage Amortization  This is a typical amortization Schedule. I do have fun with it when I play with credit card balances. I enter various years until the payment comes close to the minimum payment requested on the credit card statement. Then I check the total interest and the total number of years it takes to pay off the credit card.

  • Extra Payments Making extra payments can save $1,000's. This worksheet shows you how much. It also has a great amortization feature. Shows payments, interest paid over the life of the loan and interest paid. Fun! Amazing how much an additional $100 a month can save over the life of a loan.  I don't know  if it was my server or ? But the first time I loaded this on my browser, it took FOREVER! I suggest you just download it, click here:  DOWNLOAD

  • Debt Manager This sheet will help you track all of your debt and help you set up a goal to eliminate the debt!

  • Warranty LogThis worksheet helps you keep track of your warranties but also may come in  handy for all insurance claims. For insurance purposes, I suggest you also video tape every room in your house, paying close attention to all major assets.
Then set up a file for all the warranties and receipts. Some  folks even scan the  receipts and put them on a CD for safe storage

For those of you who may just be starting on the road to financial freedom, please be sure that you see the outline, How To Start
